What is the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Method:

Ideal Protein is a medically supervised and coached, four phase, meal replacement program. The first phase is the weight loss phase. During this time you will be consuming three to four of the Ideal Protein foods a day. There are nearly 70 different, delicious foods to choose from! Along with the Ideal Protein foods, you will also be eating vegetables and lean protein. On the program we expect woman to lose 2 to 4 pounds a week and men to lose 3 to 5 pounds a week. Once you have achieved your goal weight, determined by you and your personal weight loss coach, you will be phased off the Ideal Protein foods, back to whole foods. In Phase 4, which is the maintenance phase, you will still be seen at least once a month by your weight loss coach to assist you in maintaining your new weight. Visits are at no charge. 



Science behind Ideal Protein:

Dr. Tran Tien Chanh, who created the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Method, says, "The cause of many weight issues in our modern society is insulin dysfunction. A diet grossly disproportionate in its share of saturated fats and sugars, such as in breads, cereals, muffins, cakes, pastries, pasta, pizza, rice and corn causes the pancreas to produce an overabundance of insulin, which stays in the system and puts the blood sugar level in a negative balance." An overproduction of insulin may lead to hypoglycemia, which in turn may induce constant sugar cravings and weight gain. One of insulin's primary functions is to regulate blood sugar levels but it is also the hormone that transports fat into the fat cell. Then "locks" that fat into the fat cell, preventing it from being used as an energy source. Now, because the blood sugar has dropped and we can access the fat as fuel, it creates sugar cravings and the vicious cycle begins again. 


The body has three energy reserves: glycogen (carbohydrates), protein and fats. First the body depletes its simple and complex carbohydrate reserves and then simultaneously to its protein and fat reserves for energy. Therefore, the Ideal Protein program restricts sugars until your weight loss goals are achieved. As long as sugar is being consumed, your body will not be burning fat. The first principle of the Ideal Protein Protocol is to deplete the glycogen reserves completely, in order to compel the body into consuming its fat reserve to burn calories. 


How do we encourage the body to burn its fat reserves but support muscle mass? Ideal Protein foods are made with high quality protein. Using this high quality protein allows the muscle mass to remain intact. The lower quality the protein, the less the body can absorb of it. Preserving the muscle mass, ensures your ability to continue to burn calories post-diet. Also, our dieters use nutrient rich supplements to support muscle health. These supplements include a multi-vitamin, calcium, magnesium, potassium and fish oil.

What is the cost?

Ideal Protein has an initial cost of $399. If you attend a workshop, you receive a $50 discount or credit toward food. If you find a friend to start with and you both start together, you each receive another $50 discount or credit. This pays for your life time of coaching and your first week of food, also your supplements that last thirty to sixty days depending on dosage. Thereafter food cost is $99 a week. This includes 21 delicious, prepared meals for the week eaten along with vegetables and lean meats.
