What is Sermorelin?

Sermorelin is also known as GRF 1-29 NH 2. It stands for Growth hormone Releasing Factor with the numbers indicating the amino acid chain that is responsible for the effect of Sermorelin. Sermorelin works by promoting the secretion of Human Growth Hormone (HGH) from the pituitary gland.

Is Sermorelin the same as HGH (human growth hormone)?

Sermorelin is not the same as HGH; it stimulates the production of HGH in the body.

What is the benefit of stimulating pituitary production HGH (human growth hormone)?

Research has conclusively shown that HGH secretion drops off significantly as we age. This can contribute to weight gain, especially in the trunk, reduced muscle mass, reduced bone mineral content, insomnia and mental changes in how we view our wellness.

When these metabolic changes occur (increased weight gain, decreased muscle mass, etc.) we increase our risk for heart disease, insulin resistance, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and others, which are common causes of death after age 50.

By stimulating increased production of HGH, we mimic more youthful hormone patterns. These more youthful patterns help us avoid other dysfunctions with our thyroid, adrenal glands and reproductive system. In fact, one benefit to using Sermorelin is its ability to trigger the brain to promote non-REM slow wave sleep.

In short, the stimulation of HGH with Sermorelin helps us maintain a healthful body composition and helps us avoid some diseases commonly associated with aging.

Why use Sermorelin instead of HGH?

Sermorelin use leads to the preservation of youthful anatomy and physiology without the possible harmful side effects HGH. Also, law prohibits off-label use of HGH. The function of Sermorelin is to stimulate pituitary function; therefore the pituitary gland regulates the amount of HGH production. This increases the safety and minimizes the side effects.

Why not just use over the counter HGH secretagogues?

Just like exercise, which sometimes causes HGH to be released, other non-prescribed, over the counter amino acids such as L-argenine, L-glutamine and L-dopa are inconsistent and unreliable in their ability to stimulate the release of HGH from the pituitary gland. In addition, high doses of amino acids can lead to kidney problems. Comparatively, Sermorelin is specifically designed to bind with the receptors of the pituitary gland that produce HGH.

How is Sermorelin used?

Injections are given nightly before bed in the sub-cutaneous tissue. Don’t worry, your doctor will review this with you! Your individual dose Sermorelin depends on your BMI (body mass index):

Men: 200 mcg/day for BMI 18.5-24.9 or 400 mcg/day for BMI 25-29.9 and over

Women: 300 mcg/day for BMI 18.5-24.9 or 400-500 mcg/day for BMI 25-29.9 and over

Why does your Sermorelin have Vitamin B-12?

Sermorelin comes in powder form and must be reconstituted prior to injection. Since B-12 supports the energy pathways in the body to ward off depression, anxiety and fatigue, we find that that it is a valuable additive.
