Our goal is to provide thorough, professional and compassionate primary and adjunctive care for all of our patients, naturally.
Appointments
| We strive to be able to provide appointments within one to two weeks of calling. To make an appointment, please call us at 360.568.2686. Depending on the provider, new patient appointments are available within 1-2 weeks and are scheduled for a full hour in order to thoroughly cover your concerns. Provider hours and class times vary. We've designed our office hours to to accomodate folks who need evening appointments. If you need to cancel your appointment, please call our office at least 24 business hours in advance, so we may offer the appointment to someone from our wait list, and so you may avoid late cancellation or no show fees. We do not routinely call patients for scheduled appointment reminders. |

Phone Calls
We do our best to provide quality care for patients in our office and on the phone. If your phone call is missed during business hours, please hold on the line for the next available receptionist or leave a message and we will call you back. You can also e-mail your questions or comments to info@snohomishnaturopathic.com; this e-mail is checked daily, Monday - Friday. Although HIPAA laws prevent us from replying by e-mail, we will print out your e-mail for the provider to review and respond with a phone call. We strive to call all patients back within 24-48 hours for non-emergent concerns. Providers often return calls between patients, during lunch or after we close.
Emergencies
If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to your closest emergency room. If you have an urgent concern and would like to be seen or speak to a provider, please contact our office at 360.568.2686. We do make time in provider schedules to see patients with urgent concerns briefly on the day of the call. If our offices are closed and you must be in touch with the on-call provider regarding something urgent, please call the office and listen for the provider's cell phone number listed in the message.
Insurance
|
The clinic bills all insurance companies as a service to you. However, being contracted with a particular insurance company does not ensure that your insurance covers all of the services we offer at Snohomish Naturopathic Clinic. Prior to your appointment, please contact your insurance by calling the customer care number on the back of your card to find out your level of coverage at our clinic. We don't routinely call insurance companies for each patient, as we find that it is a much more empowering and informative experience for patients to contact their insurance carriers directly. There are several questions you may want to ask your insurance company when you call. If you have any questions about procedure codes that we typically use, feel free to call us. If you are coming in for an acupuncture visit but do not have naturopathic coverage, please let us know, so we may bill appropriately. Copays are due at the time of service. Payment for balances not covered by insurance are due to the clinic upon billing. All balances over 90 days are subject to a 1% monthly fee and all balances over 180 days are subject to collections. We are not contracted with Medicare, but please do inform us if you have Medicare coverage, as it changes how we bill your insurance company.

No Naturopathic Coverage?
No Problem!
Lakshmi Thiagaraj, ARNP provides holistic primary care and bills insurance as a traditional provider!

Discounts
We offer a discounted rate for payment on the day of service for patients not using insurance. Unfortunately, due to our insurance company contracts, we cannot offer this discount once your insurance has already been billed. Therefore we cannot stress enough the importance of contacting your insurance well before your appointment so you understand how your coverage works.
Laboratory
Conventional labs are returned to the office within days. Most of these results can be discussed over the phone and you can expect a call from your provider within one week. If your results require extensive discussion, we will call you to schedule an appointment. All lab charges will be billed to you or your insurance by the lab. Blood draws can be conveniently scheduled with our Medical Assistant, Leisha; we send our samples to PacLab for processing. Other labwork and imaging including food allergy panels, extensive vitamin and nutrient testing, saliva hormone testing and DEXA scans require more in depth discussion than possible over the phone, and therefore require a follow-up appointment. You should schedule this appointment to occur no sooner than three weeks from the date you completed the testing or imaging.
Prescriptions
If a refill is needed, we kindly ask you to contact your pharmacy directly. Your pharmacy will fax us the refill request for authorization and we will fax it back within 24 - 48 hours. If you are in need of an appointment or updated labwork, we will either contact you or note it on your prescription so the pharmacy can notify you in person or in writing on your medication. A good rule of thumb is to contact your pharmacy when you get down to your last 7 days of medication; this allows time for faxing, authorizing, filling and mailing of medications. A couple of considerations regarding refills: all patients need a re-evaluation appointment at least once a year, and labwork must be done yearly or every time there is a change in dose. When labwork or re-evaluation appointments are due, we are only able to refill for 30 day supplies.
Referrals
Because we provide primary care services, we are able to make a variety of referrals for our patients. Some referrals do require an appointment with your doctor, especially if you haven't discussed the issue of concern before. We love your feedback too; if a particular referral provider has been especially helpful (or not) we want to know! For questions about the referral process or to give us your feedback, please contact our Office Manager at 360.568.2686.
Medical Records
We believe that access to your medical records is critical to coordinated and effective care. If you would like all or part of your medical record released to you or another provider, please completely fill out the Medical Records Release form and fax, mail or bring it to us. Please allow up to 30 days for requests to be filled. In some cases a fee of up to $35 may apply.

"Bowenwork is a very effective bodywork therapy, where very gentle moves are performed over muscles and soft tissue, stimulating the nervous system to reset and heal. By combining moves the practitioner can either benefit the body as a whole, or target a specific problem." (www.Bowenwork.com)

"Where naturopaths depart from (the familiar medical model) is to respect the symptom, not as a disease, but as a red flag. Treat the underlying cause, and you become well! For example, when you treat hypertension (high blood pressure) with medication, your numbers look better, but you still haven't treated the cause of your hypertension; the medicine is just a bandaid." HCG Weight Loss Program: HCG is a hormone naturally produced in the body. It has many functions and is used medically to treat a variety of conditions. During pregnancy, this hormone allows the body to mobilize fat and use it as energy for both mother and fetus; this acts as a "fail-safe" mechanism when energy is needed immediately. For weight loss, we use only a very small amount of HCG to capitalize on this same mechanism. Using HCG in this way does not mimic pregnancy; in fact, it can be safely used by both men and women.
